Returning to the Turnage stage with an exciting program!

The afternoon’s program will include:

Adagio for Strings……..Samuel Barber (this was used as part of the sound track to PLATOON)

Serenade for Strings, Opus 22 . . . Antonin Dvorak

Fantasy on a Theme by Thomas Tallis…..R. Vaughn Williams

Malediction for solo piano and strings…Franz Liszt

The Carolina Chamber Symphony, was founded in 1992 by Robert Franz and a group of fellow musicians from the North Carolina School of the Arts. Franz served as artistic director and conductor of the orchestra for ten years.

CCS performs repertoire spanning four centuries, from the Baroque masters to works by living composers. Committed to performing music by American composers, CCSP premiered eight new works in its first thirteen seasons. Works performed during recent seasons range from the world premiere of Lawrence Dillon's "Revenant," a horn concerto written for and premiered by soloist David Jolley, as well as 2007 "Reynolda Reflections" concert featuring chamber works by NC resident composers Robert Ward, Kenneth Frazelle and Dan Locklair.

Ticket Prices: $30 for Orchestra/Mezzanine and $20 for the Balcony.
