The Orchestra
The Orchestra section includes every seat downstairs. The center section is flanked by two aisles, and the right and left sections are accessible only from these aisles. Seats 11 (left side) and 12 (right side) sit adjacent to the theater walls.
Hints: The Orchestra tends to fill up from the aisles in, and middle first. People often worry that the front row is too close, and that they will have to crane their necks to see the action. This is not true; in our theater there is roughly 20 feet of space between the stage and the first row.
All the aisle seats taken? In rows B - E on the sides, you can access the aisle from the seats nearest the wall because there is no seat in front of them. These are my "hidden aisle seats".
Sound quality: sound aficionados have told me that the best sound downstairs starts around row E.
Mezzanine
The Mezzanine is the first three rows of the upstairs of the theater. The word Mezzanine comes from the French and means "middle". In 1927 it became the standard term to describe the first balcony in a theater. Our Mezzanine and Balcony both have the best views and sound quality in the theater. The Mezzanine is as close to the action as you can get upstairs, but it is not as roomy as the Orchestra.
Balcony Prime
The Balcony center has been revamped. We have removed three rows of seating and replaced them with step risers, so that the remaining three rows would have legroom ample enough to accommodate the tallest possible guests. Anyone who suffers from claustrophobia, or who just wants more space, will be happiest in the Balcony Prime, where every seat feels like an aisle seat. Not only is this now the roomiest section in the theater, it also boasts the incredible sound quality and unobstructed views of the Mezzanine level.
Balcony Sides
Though the sound quality and views are unbeatable in the Balcony Sides, these are not the most comfortable seats to sit in. The Balcony Sides drawback is their lack of legroom. However, the benefit of these seats is that they are almost always cheaper than the other seats in the theater.
Accessible Seating
Accessible seating is available in the front and rear of the Orchestra. Anyone with mobility impairments who can transfer out of a wheelchair or similar device is welcome to use the accessible seats in the front of the theater; otherwise, we have dedicated wheelchair spaces in the rear row. You must call the box office at (252) 975-1191 or stop by 150 West Main St. to reserve these seats.
Upstairs accessibility: there is one internal staircase of 28 steps up to the Balconies and Mezzanine levels, as well as two emergency exterior staircases. One can access the seats in these levels from doors at either end of the upstairs lobby. There is no elevator to the upstairs, so all patrons who have trouble with stairs should pick the best available seats from the Orchestra.
