Visiting the Turnage and the Area...

The Turnage Theater is located in historic Washington, NC, which is centrally located in the heart of the Inner Banks.  The theater is one block from the Pamlico River and Washington’s lovely waterfront promenade.

  • For patrons with special needs, the Turnage offers orchestra level wheelchair seating and assistive listening devices. Please inform the ticket office of any special needs when purchasing tickets. All areas of the Turnage Theater are handicap accessible except the Mezzanine and Balcony levels.
  • The Turnage requires that cell phones and pagers be turned off during performances. We do not allow food or drink (other than bottled water) in the performance hall and we are a smoke free building. The use of recording devices and cameras represent copyright violations and are strictly prohibited by law.
  • Latecomers will be seated at an appropriate time in the performance at the discretion of the house manager.
  • Prior to performances and during intermission, Turnage Concessions sells coffee, water, sodas and snacks (wine and beer will also be sold at selected performances). No other food or drink is permitted inside the theatre.
  • There is no specific dress code. While most people “dress up” for evening performances, a number of patrons dress casually whenever they come to The Turnage. For weeknights and matinee performances, people tend to dress more casually.
  • Restrooms are located on the ground level of the theater.
  • Seating Capacity is 467.
  • Lost and Found – Call the Turnage at 252-975-1711 and leave your name, telephone number, a detailed message about the item you lost and what performance you were attending. Someone will look for the item and get back with you as soon as possible.
  • Free parking is available behind the Turnage. This parking lot is accessible from 2nd street between Respess and Market streets. Free parking is also available on the waterfront which is an easy walk to the theater.
